Why am I afflicted?
Allah says in the Holy Quran: No calamity befalls, but by the Leave [i.e. Decision and Qadar (Divine Preordainments)] of Allâh, and whosoever believes in Allâh, He guides his heart [to the true Faith with certainty, i.e. what has befallen him was already written for him by Allâh from the Qadar (Divine Preordainments)]. And Allâh is the All-Knower of everything. – 64: 11
Allah also says: And whatever of misfortune befalls you, it is because of what your hands have earned. And He pardons much. – 42:30
The Cure
Shifa (Cure) is in Allah’s hands. Treatment is done in stages and requires much efforts on behalf of the patient. Allah says: O you who believe! Seek help in patience and As-Salât (the prayer). Truly! Allâh is with As-Sâbirûn (the patient). – 2:153
One should strive a lot in treating him/herself and commit to a ruqyah program on a daily basis.
Verily! Allâh will not change the (good) condition of a people as long as they do not change their state (of goodness) themselves (by committing sins and by being ungrateful and disobedient to Allâh). – 13:11
And We send down of the Qur’ân that which is a healing and a mercy to those who believe (in Islâmic Monotheism and act on it), and it increases the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong-doers) nothing but loss – 17:82
