Treating spiritual afflictions requiring understanding the underlying conditions which are causing different sorts of problems in the life of the patient.
If someone is afflicted by Al-Ayn (The Evil Eye), a treatment with respect to evil eye is required. In the case of evil eye, the affliction can be due to the person being wealthy (ayn on rizq) etc.. The concept is similar for other spiritual afflictions which imply treatment for sihr and jinn possession.
Muslims must strive a lot by making dua to Allah and repent for their sins which they have committed in the past. In addition to this, one must get closer to Allah and give up other sins such as listening to music, watching TV, staring at women and men likewise.

We should also realize that the cure comes only from Allah alone. A raqi is a means to attaining a cure. Being patient is a must no matter how long someone has been afflicted. One should not say that Allah has not accepted his or her dua and that Allah tolerates magicians and evil people. These thoughts/whispers come from the Shayateens to discourage us to an extent that we lose hope.
There is nothing more beloved to satan than a depressed believer.
“O my sons! Go you and enquire about Yûsuf (Joseph) and his brother, and never give up hope of Allâh’s Mercy. Certainly no one despairs of Allâh’s Mercy, except the people who disbelieve.” quran – 12:87
One who is afflicted to stick to his ruqyah program everyday and not give up. If one is suffering from jinn possession as well, s/he should not give attention to the jinn.
